A common mistake when we consider fitness is to think of it as exercise. A deliberate and conscious period of activity used as an opportunity for vigorous movement and breaking a sweat. Exercise is a modern invention that becomes an obligation and something to feel guilty about when we cannot fit it into our busy schedules. While it certainly has its value, it is not the epiphany of fitness. 

The CDC defines fitness as "the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigour and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure-time pursuits and respond to emergencies." Regular physical activity is essential for optimal health, including weight management, chronic disease prevention and fitness maintenance. But nowhere does this definition of fitness state that you must be in the gym lifting weights or running marathons to be considered fit. 

There has to be a better way...

SOMETIMES WE MUST REMIND OURSELVES WHILE EXERCISE IS OPTIONAL, MOVEMENT IS ESSENTIAL. 

And it is this incidental movement that naturally occurs throughout our day that can significantly impact our fitness, health and well-being. Optimised movement allows you to run with an operating system of flexible, supple joints and well-circulated bodies primed to spend time in varied ranges of motion.
